Welcome to Slidell Newcomers Club!

You're invited to join the Slidell Newcomers' Club, a non-profit organization that was established in 1962 to enable newcomers to the area to make social contacts, acquaint them with activities of the Slidell area, and initiate social activities.

Welcome To

Slidell Newcomers Club

Our members come from all over the world and have settled here in the Slidell area, some for a short time and some have found their "forever home".  The Slidell Newcomers' Club has helped ease the transition from another state or country. Members have felt kinship by sharing a willingness to make friends and become involved with their new hometown.

Activities

Our activities are a great opportunity to get together with others who have the same interest as yourself. Except for the Garden Club, there are no extra dues for these gatherings of kindred souls. The only requirement is a willingness to meet new people and take part in fun-filled activities.

There is something for everyone!

Games

We have Bowling, Bridge, several Bunko groups including a couple's Bunko night, Euchre, Pokeno, and Texas Hold 'Em games to name a few.

Shopping & Dining Out

You can do that in the pleasant company of our members.  What better way to become acquainted with the area as they visit different malls, sights of interest, and restaurants!

Parties

Every year we hold our annual Mardi Gras Ball with the court selected from our membership.  There are many members needed to help with the planning and decorations for this fun filled event. The Ball is one of the highlights of the Slidell Mardi Gras season.

Scrapbooking & Book Club

To be able to socialize while learning something new, or perhaps offering something new to us, is an excellent way to make friends.  We have groups that do all these things and more.

Our Fuctions

We have an active and creative Social Chairman who organizes several functions during the year to be enjoyed by both you and your spouse, including our annual Crawfish Boil.

Non-Profit

As a non-profit organization, Newcomers supports many community services and charities. This is done through various fund raising activities such as raffles during the year and our annual Sell-A-Bration Arts and Crafts show.
